Hi Karen,

Well, I got 4 hour sleep last nite and 5 hours the nite before. No wake-ups in between!!! But just cannot get back to sleep once I wake up. Both nites I took the following:

800 mg Skelaxin
50 mg Trazadone
50 mg Atarax
3 mg Melatonin

I didn't get the bad RLS like I did three nites ago! Yep, hopefully I am over the worst by end of next week, feeling pretty yucky the last few days. I have heard about the PAWS, though I have basically had little motivation for a long time now, especially the last few months when I got under 2 mg suboxone. I know its gonna get worse but that's the price I have to pay for being on opiates so long -- dang! I never wanna go through this again. I hope I get my short term memory back and can be up for the rigors of looking for a job again and interviewing soon. Its just that occasionally I cannot think of the word I was thinking of and just blank out about it. Not good during a job interview ....

Enjoy the weekend.

Love and blessings,
Binky

Binky,

I think for coming off the last of the sub and your body being left opiate free, you are sleeping better than most, better than I did.

I got my short term memory back, I got my motivation as well.....and I got the ability to really, really laugh and I realized I hadn't laughed like me in a long, long time..........

at the 1 year mark, I felt totally normal and was so relieved I had a year behind me of NO opiates or Soma and this is while coming off Klonopin, that is how much opiates ruin our lives too;

I feel the same way, I cannot believe this is my life and I ever ended up on these drugs and the ravaging they do ones body.......

Just keep in mind what you have accomplished and never look back, you are off opiates and that horrible Soma! I am so proud of you.........a walk we have both walked. I never had PAWS and I did a ct so more that it being PAWS, our brains have been abused by heavy opiate use so it is really brain recovery and you will be amazed at how you will feel at the one year mark!

Love and blessings your way,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Yes, I am lucky, I am getting more sleep than most after 6 days off of sub. I should probably start weaning off of the sleep aid mixture soon. I am stable on the valium, 15 mgs per day, but want to start tapering soon. My roller coaster ride with the opiates (oxy, norco, tramadol, suboxone) and soma and up to 40 mgs valium per day is OVER!! I only have a vague idea on how to taper the valium, something about dissolving the tablets in whole milk and using oral syringes but that's all I know. I understand that Jana is out, I hope she is doing well. I still have to find those yellow sticky dust rags she was talking about as my nose is getting so darned congested and the sudafed doesn't help with the heebie jeebies or sleep.

Lotsa love and blessings,
Binky

binky,

Good job on the 6 days of being off the sub!

I don't know about stopping your sleep regimen. I'd stay with it while you taper because if you loose sleep a benzo taper can sure be a horrendous one to do it to you, don't dance with the devil, you are sleeping.............keep it up as you get off this poison.

We;ve both come a long way.............feels good, no?

Love and blessings to ya,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Thanks, its been tough off the sub but I am off it!!! I am starting to feel a little better, but have little energy and lots of lethargy. Hopefully it will pass.

I am staying with the sleep regimen, upped it a bit, but will try to back down a little. I know most don't get sleep at this stage so I am lucky and best to stick with it, you're right, thanks!

Yes, we have come a long way!! Large quantities of opiates and soma and benzos can certainly wreck havoc in one's life and brain. It DOES feel good in the sense knowing that I am off the opiates and some!! I think I will ride this out a bit then focus on getting off the valium. How soon do you think until I can start tapering off the valium? Once I do, I will need the secret plan....

I saw some of your earlier posts, looks like you are doing much better. How's things going?

Love and blessing back at ya!

Binky,

I did my cold turkey off the opiates, soma and xanax on Feb 2nd 2009, was reinstated onto this massive amount of Klonopin on Feb 22 of 2009, and started tapering off the Klonopin on May 1st of 2009....so my body went threw a whirlwind. But I wouldn't change it because I have well over a year under my belt.

If I were you, I might wait a week or so, but I would get a jump on the titration and get it started. You can do this and get yourself free.

Thanks for asking about me.....I am doing much better than in the beginning. I was on such a toxic dose of Klonopin that peeling 3mgs off has made me feel much better, that is the equivalent of dumping 60mgs of Valium, so you can imagine how much better I feel in that retrospect.

I do have some bad shaking from wd, but my gosh when I look at all I have been through and all I can do now, I am just so thankful.

If it weren't for God I would never have made it through all this. I was terribly ill for 2 years prior to the cold turkey in tolerance wd but no dr would believe me........so I am well into my 3rd year of being sick, but this is the best year and I am coming off a benzo so that speaks volumes of this wonderful method!!!

My prayers go out to you
Karen

Hi Karen,

Yes, doing OK. I even flushed all my pills finally. I was surprised how much I had hidden -- over 200 each of oxy 20's, norco's, and tramadols; also flushed the last of the soma and sub. Feels good that I got rid of all that. My back was hurting and I thought of those pills and I flushed them before I could even think about really taking one or more. I don't have much energy still from the sub withdrawal, but gradually getting a little better. Enjoying World Cup games.

Day 12 off of sub!!!

Thanks for thinking of me!

Love,
Binky

Binky,

Oh, I am so glad you flushed that junk if it was a bother to you!!!! I have a bunch of it, but I never craved it so I just let it stay there to remind me of what dr's put me on that tried to ruin my life. I have never thought of them though, I am terrified of pills.

I have been off the Norco and Soma 516 days as of today......It is amazing how well your brain works when all that garbage isn't in it.

Now my problem is this, I have a TON of energy, but can"t do anything because of the benzo wd........oh well, I keep focused on how much I have dumped and for how long............

Hey, are you still sleeping well??

Love,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Wow, 516 days away from that stuff, that's great! Great accomplishment!!

Hmmmmmm, in my sub wd, I have zero energy. I guess in a benzo wd you have energy, but its that anxiety that eats you up? Is that right? I am still maintaining my 15 mg of v per day but need to know how to start reducing it soon. Does a valium dissolve in milk or do I crush it first?

Yes, I am getting 4 to 5 hours straight sleep every nite, and can occasionally get another 1 or 2 hours after laying awake for an hour or so. Not bad considering .... I am still taking the sleep regimen you suggested, but had to up it a bit. I am still so thankful for that magic sleep regimen!

Congrats on your great success so far and such good focus!

Love,
Binky

Binky,

Thannks for the kind words, but your 12 days is much more of an accomplishment because you have that craving to deal with, I have never had a craving for any of it so believe me, it makes it much easier, I am sure! I am so proud of you.

I am glad the sleep regimen works and it is ok to bump it up, you have to sleep to heal. I was so stupid for going 9 months with no sleep, it wore me down to nothing..........I lost 55 pounds, I was so sick and so mentally worn to a frazzle I don't know now how I did it, the grace of God!

I will pm you about the Valium .....

Love and prayers your way,
Karen

Just an update: I am struggling through, sub acute opiate withdrawal or post acute opiate withdrawal and maintaining on 15 mg valium daily. Fatigue, loss of breath, no energy, much anxiety, sweats, joint pain, bone pain. Hoping to feel well enough soon to start the valium taper. Still getting 5 to 6 hours sleep thanks to the sleep regimen mixture! Karen, I will be in touch.

Binky,
I have been soooo worried about you, but figured you had hit rock bottom with opiate wd symptoms.

Also, opiates help potentiate benzos and vice verse so you can have benzzo symptoms too..........

My prayers are with you, I got through opiate wd and so can you.......it takes time! It is not over in 3-5 days. But it will go away, even during benzo wd, my opiate wd went away........hang tight.....

call me if you need support, ok?

many prayers and love to you,
Karen

I KNOW you can do this!

Hi Karen,

Thanks for thinking of me. My wd is not severe, but its very annoying and bothersome, churning stomach and anxiety about nothing, just anxiety I can't shake it. And then, no energy and out of breath feeling, I guess its all part of the phases of wd I am going through. I've got stuff I need to do, but just can't get myself to do it. I need to try harder and just do it, but I end up laying down and reading.

Hanging in there, but barely,
Love,
Bink
